Stopping Auto Refill and Renewals on Cam Sites
If a cam site keeps charging your card when you didn't expect it, one of two things is usually switched on: an automatic token refill or a membership that renews each month. Here's how to find and stop both.
In short: refills and memberships are separate switches. Turning one off doesn't stop the other, and deleting an app or closing your browser stops neither.
Two Kinds of Repeat Charge
- Automatic refill. When your token balance runs low, the site buys more using your saved card. Chaturbate calls it Auto Refill; Stripchat calls it balance auto-refill; LiveJasmin calls it SmartBuy.
- Memberships. A monthly plan such as Chaturbate Supporter, a performer's fan club or Stripchat Ultimate. These renew on the same date each month until cancelled.
Chaturbate
- Turn off Auto Refill. Log in and open your settings page. Chaturbate's help says Auto Refill can be switched on or off there at any time. It only works with card purchases, and it reloads your last token amount once your balance drops below about 10% of that purchase.
- Cancel Supporter. On a computer, click My Profile at the top right, then the Memberships tab. You'll get an email confirming when your upgraded access ends.
- Cancel fan clubs. Card-paid fan clubs are listed on the same Memberships tab. Cancel each one separately.

Stripchat
- Cancel Ultimate. Click your username, open your profile, then your subscriptions, choose the Ultimate membership and select cancel. Benefits usually run until the end of the paid period.
- Turn off balance auto-refill. This is a separate setting in your account settings. Switch it off if you've ever turned it on.
LiveJasmin
- Turn off SmartBuy. SmartBuy buys another credit package automatically when your balance runs low. Find it in your account settings and switch it off. Visit LiveJasmin
BongaCams and Streamate
BongaCams has an optional automatic top-up in its account settings, linked to two-step sign-in. Streamate's Gold Shows only take the Gold you pledge, but check any saved-card or quick-buy options in your account.
If a Charge Still Appears
- Match the name on your statement. Our billing names guide lists the processors cam sites use.
- Check your email for a receipt. Every purchase sends one.
- Contact the site's billing support before you call your bank. Disputing a charge can get an account closed.
Watching is free on Chaturbate whatever you decide about refills. You never need a card on file to look around.
Common Questions
Does deleting my account stop charges?
Not reliably. Turn off refills and cancel memberships first, then close the account if you want to.
Will I lose my tokens if I turn off Auto Refill?
No. Turning it off only stops future automatic purchases.
Is Chaturbate a subscription?
No. Watching is free and tokens are bought one pack at a time, unless you've switched on Auto Refill or joined a membership. More in what it costs.
