Avoiding Scams on Cam Sites
The platforms themselves are legitimate businesses. The scams tend to live around them. Here are the common ones and how to sidestep each.
"Free Token" Generators
Websites and videos promising free tokens are scams, without exception. At best they waste your time; at worst they collect your login or card details. Tokens only come from buying them on the platform or from the platform's own promotions.
Fake Discount Codes
Stripchat says it does not use coupon codes at all, and we found no promo-code scheme in Chaturbate's help pages. Any site selling or sharing "codes" for either platform is not to be trusted. The genuine offers we could confirm are listed on What It Costs.
Fake Apps
Neither Chaturbate nor Stripchat has an official app in the App Store or Google Play. Chaturbate runs in your browser and can be pinned to your home screen; Stripchat installs as a web app from its own site. An app-store download claiming to be either one is not genuine.
Look-Alike Websites and Emails
- Type the address yourself or use a bookmark, rather than following links in unexpected emails.
- Check the address bar before entering your password.
- Turn on two-step verification on Chaturbate, so a stolen password is not enough.
Requests to Move Off the Platform
If someone asks you to pay or chat somewhere else, be careful. Inside the platform you have its billing protections and refund rules; outside it you have none.
Recognising Genuine Charges
Stripchat charges appear under payment companies' names, such as EPOCH.COM, SegpayEU.com or Paymentico.com. Chaturbate shows its billing options on the purchase page. Knowing these helps you spot anything that does not belong.
If Something Goes Wrong
Contact the platform's support directly from its own website. Stripchat expects show complaints within 48 hours and refunds your most recent unused pack within 30 days if paid by card or PayPal. Chaturbate handles refunds through billing support or a support ticket.
